South Fremantle Power Station Masterplan

The Cockburn Coast District Structure Plan envisions that the South Fremantle Power Station site will be rejuvenated as a major activity node, forming the hub of the new community and regional attractor. TPG has been appointed to provide heritage consultancy services, which will be a key driver in delivering an agreed Masterplan.

The project team is currently working to address both the opportunities and challenges to arrive at preferred options for the future use of the Power Station. While the distinctive form, height and architectural design of the Power Station provide opportunities for adaptive reuse of the building and new development in the vicinity, there are a number of challenges in realising the potential of the site. Case studies and a detailed site analysis have been undertaken to identify compatible and feasible options for the future of the site.
