Canning City Centre Regeneration

TPG was appointed by the City of Canning to prepare a Heritage Report for the Canning City Centre Regeneration Strategy (Phase 2).

Significant cultural and historic research was undertaken and revealed that the study area has a rich and varied history, which is not evident in the existing built form. The aim of the Report was to weave an appreciation of Canning’s rich history into the future planning framework to create a distinct and meaningful place.

As part of the report, a Thematic Framework was developed to provide a comprehensive historical overview of key themes and stories to help explain the occupation, settlement and development patterns of the study area. Practical strategies for identifying, protecting and transmitting the heritage values inherent in the study areas were then developed.
