The Density Challenge: Property Council Breakfast
TPG broke with tradition and added weight to the debate by increasing the gravitas of your average Perth property heavyweight in providing a delicious handmade 'Top Dup' doughnut to take back to the office instead of corporate stationery!
We were delighted to be one of two leading partner sponsors alongside Sheffield Property at last weeks PCA Breakfast, where property people came to hear an array of views on density, with Digby Sutherland of Sheffield Property and TPG's David Caddy opening proceedings. David brought the matter into sharp focus reminding us that whilst density is not a dirty word it had just unseated a long standing mayor in the Town of Cambridge and the matter was debated for over 2 hours at the most recent City of Nedlands council meeting!
Each of the main speakers Gail McGowan, Director General, Department of Planning; Brad Pettitt, Mayor, City of Fremantle; and Tanya Trevisan, Chief Operating Officer, TRG Properties then spoke enthusiastically of their experiences and views on the shared goal of urban infill. Proceedings concluded with a panel discussion, which included TPG's Principal Heritage Architect Nerida Moredoundt; Wood & Grieve Engineer Darren Pesich and Jason Willoughby of Willoughby Property Group.
We are proud to have helped facilitate the event on a topic close to their hearts and hopes that projects such as TRG's medium density developments and LandCorp's Claremont on the Park will be more of the norm in the years to come.
